For information regarding the upcoming election for Board of Education members, click here or in the column to the left.
On November 7, 2017, the Board of Education adopted a resolution to initiate the process of establishing trustee areas for board elections. Public hearings were held on the process, the proposed maps, and the final map. On February 27, 2018, the Board of Education adopted a resolution recommending a transition to elections by trustee areas. On March 28, 2018, the County Committee on School District Organization held a public hearing to receive comments. The County Committee then voted to approve the plan for Morongo Unified School District to transition to a by-trustee area election system.
The map selected by the Board is linked below, along with an interactive map of trustee areas. The seats open for election on November 6, 2018, are:
Trustee Area #4, a full-term seat through November, 2022;
Trustee Area #5, a full-term seat through November, 2022;
and one at-large Board Member, a short-term seat through November, 2020. At the 2020 election, this will become the seat for Trustee Area #2, and will be a full-term seat through November, 2024.
