Instructional Services

Tom Baumgarten

Assistant Superintendent

Dear Partners in Education,
I am pleased to welcome you to the Morongo Unified School District Instructional Services Website.  The Morongo Unified School District has developed a Three Year Plan in order to dedicate our time, energy and resources to improving student academic achievement.  The district and Instructional Services Department is committed to targeting the following three goals:

Goal 1  Focus on Student Success:  Improve student performance on federal, state and district measures.

Goal 2  Focus on Support:  Support for personnel and programs with training, materials and facilities.

Goal 3  Focus on School/Community Connections:  Encourage school and community partnerships in all areas.

Education continues to be the key for our students to unlock the endless opportunities that await them upon their graduation.  Our educators are committed to providing a rigorous and relevant curriculum to our students.  We are also committed to developing students into well rounded citizens as they enter leadership positions in our communities.  As we know, the foundation of our children is dependent upon teamwork between our schools and parents.  We look forward to sustaining a long-term partnership that will remain in place.

At the elementary level we are systematically implementing the Response to Intervention to assist our struggling students.  Each elementary site has a  teacher dedicated to assisting struggling students in the areas of math and language arts.

The district is also fortunate to have received a $2,000,000 grant from the Department of Defense Education Agency.  During these challenging economic times their funding will allow us to continue our staff development aligned with our district goals.

Each school day is filled with the promise of new opportunities.  The Morongo Unified School District continues to hold high expectations for all students and staff as we make progress toward academic goals that enable our students to become contributing members of the community.  Thank you for your ongoing interest, support and input as we constantly strive to provide the highest quality education possible

Sincerely,

Tom Baumgarten
