MUSD is diving into reading this year with the One Million Minute Reading Challenge! This districtwide initiative invites all students and staff to join together to reach a collective goal of reading one million minutes during the school year.
To encourage participation and friendly competition, a traveling trophy will be awarded each month to the school that leads in that month’s challenge. Banners and posters will also be displayed at each site to promote the effort and celebrate progress.
The monthly challenges are as follows:
October: Most minutes read per site
November: Most minutes logged over Thanksgiving break
December: Most staff reading minutes per site
January: Highest participation rate per site
February: Most minutes read per site
March: Highest participation per site
April: Most minutes logged over spring break
May: Sites meeting their established reading goals will receive a final achievement trophy
The District is excited to see students and staff come together to celebrate the joy of reading. By working collectively toward this goal, we can strengthen our community’s commitment to literacy and lifelong learning.
