SATURDAY SCHOOL:  Our next Saturday School is scheduled for Saturday, January 27. Four hours of Saturday School will clear one full day absence. As a reminder, 9 or more unexcused absences in any classes will result in no credit for that class. Please sign up in the attendance office or scan one of the Saturday School Posters on campus.

ATTENTION SENIORS! The RISE program will hold the first event next Tuesday.  If you are interested in joining RISE, please sign up using the forms you’ll find in senior classes, the library, and the counseling office.

FINANCIAL AID IS COMING! Completing financial aid forms (FAFSA or CADAA) is a graduation requirement this year.  On February 1, all seniors will be called to the computer labs to complete one of those forms.  Make sure you bring your social security number that day to ensure you can fill out your form.

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS: Senior quotes are due by Thursday, February 1. This is your chance to shout out friends, share memories, and leave a lasting impression on your school community. A link to the form was emailed to you via email. Please submit your form before the deadline. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Sanchez in L6.

TROJANS! Girls ask your guy or round up your friends. YVHS-PTO is having a Sadie Hawkins dance on Saturday, February 24th from 6-9pm in the gym. Tickets will be on sale from February 5 to February 23 and can be purchased in the library between 6:45 am. and 7:00 am.  Cash or card will be accepted. A permission slip form is required and can be picked up in the ASB Office. Reach out to Ms. Rodriguez if you have any questions.

YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL holding an ASB leadership clinic January 27 from 9:00 am. to 12:00 pm. Grades 4-12 are welcome to attend and sign-ups are via instagram at yvhs asb. Students will learn how to be a leader through fun group activities and what to expect to do at YVHS ASB! GoTrojans!

THE SENIOR TRIP is on March 15, 2024 to Belmont Park and the WNDR museum. It’s a FREE trip. Make sure to go to the ASB Office to get the permission slip and turn it in by February 15.

THE ASVAB aptitude test will be given again on February 6 from 7:00 am. to 11:22 am. For more information or to sign up ask your teacher about the ASVAB flier. You can scan the QR code or sign up in the Counseling Office.

THE WRESTLING TEAM just finished their regular season and are headed into the playoffs. The girls finished with another dual team league title, being the undefeated in league for 3 years and 7 individual league Champions with 11 girls going to CIF individual tournament. The boys had another good year with 4 win and 2 loses coming in third in league with 13 boys going to the CIF individual tournament. The girls will compete in the CIF Duals as a team this Saturday, January 27. Desert Valley individual League Finals results for Yucca Valley High Valley at their weight:

THE LADY TROJANS continued the march to their 5th straight Desert Valley League title scoring a 78-36 victory over Banning HS Wednesday night in Trojan Gym. The Yucca girls opened up a 44-23 halftime lead and then exploded for 31 third quarter points to put the game out of reach. Four Lady Trojans scored in double figures. Senior Cadence Tarrant led the balanced attack with 19 points, she was followed by junior CeCe Gilmore who pumped in 18 points. Junior Tayla Monroy played a solid game scoring 17 points and sophomore Teagan Moon added 12 points. Freshman Kamea Medina contributed 8 points while sophomore Lyrics Thompson and freshman Nahveah Baclig each put in 2 points. The win improved the teams league record to 11-0 and overall record to 21-4 with a road game at Desert Mirage HS on Friday 1/26 next on the schedule. Tip-off is 4pm in Thermal.
