Today, we are on regular Assembly schedule. The Battle of the Bell pep assembly will take place after seventh period.

Battle of the Bell spirit week is all this week! Since 1968, the Trojans and Wildcats have played for the right to keep the Kiwanis Bell trophy for the year. Dress up for each rivalry day this week to show your spirit as we prepare to defend the bell this year. Today is gameday Black & Gold, and tomorrow is costume day for Halloween. As a reminder, NO FACE MASKS ARE ALLOWED.

If you received an ID in paper form, please bring it to ASB so Mrs. Weiss can exchange it for you. Must have paper ID to receive a new one.

Picture Makeup Day is Monday, November 3. Frasher’s Fotos will be in Frakes Hall throughout the school day. This is your chance to get your yearbook photo taken if you have not yet. You may also retake your photo, for a fee. Underclassmen retakes are $5, and senior retakes are $10.

Attention College Bound Seniors: Launch your Cal State or UC applications on California Colleges App in CLEVER by next Wednesday, November 5th, and get a treat from Mrs. Kelley!

Seniors - Make sure you have synced your college applications and FAFSA through CLEVER in the California Colleges APP. FRIDAY, Mrs. Kelley will be in her office for drop-ins and appointments to work on all applications or essays.

Juniors! It's that time again to apply for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. RYLA is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts during which you develop leadership skills while having fun and making connections. Check your email or come to Counseling office to see Ms. Happy for the application. The deadline to submit applications is December 19.

Come explore life, faith, and what the Bible says about eternity at New Life Club — a safe, welcoming space to ask big questions and discover real answers. Wednesdays at Lunch. First Lunch – Mrs. Nicholson’s room (L-9). Second Lunch – Mr. Wali’s room (G-3). Everyone is welcome — bring your questions, bring a friend, and come as you are!

The YVHS Fall ASVAB test has been rescheduled to December 16, 2025. As the date approaches, we will notify students who signed up via their Synergy email.

Seniors: the 2026 Elks Most Valuable Student application is now open! Awards are between $500 to $2000 for local, and more for state! Deadline is November 12, 2025. Check your Synergy email or see Ms. Happy for information.

Seniors, a senior meeting is being held on November 7, 2025, during period 2 and 3 in Frakes Hall. Your senior counselor, Ms. Gerber, along with Mr. Gay and Ms. Kelley will be available to support you with any questions or concerns you may have.

SPORTS

Boys Basketball tryouts will be at 6 PM in the gym on November 3rd. Do not be late. Must have physical, be in good standing with grades, and have completed the athleticclearance.com found on the school website. Bring water, good energy, and absolutely no vans. This will be the final tryouts. If you are interested in traveling, watching games for free, and occasionally leaving class early, we are looking for up to three people in good standing with grades, attendance, who are reliable and have good attention to detail to keep stats or film for both JV and Varsity boys games. A small interview will be conducted to provide the opportunity to showcase skillsets.
